Top 5 Parties of 2008!

With all these 2008 lists going around, I had to make my own with the one thing I did most this year: PARTY! So here are the parties I found myself sweaty, drunk, and smiling at the end:

5) Scion Parties

Free and on weeknights. Gave me an excuse to miss dinner and go straight from work to avoid the long lines. From Count & Sinden to Villains, it left me hungover and in a daze at work with my ears ringing…

4) Dance Right

Wow, Shepard Farley knows how to throw a party, and La Cita always provides the grittiest venue but the sexiest people! I got to see ATrak and Kool Keith rock the decks, while looking at shaggy hipsters dance and young chicks running around in stunna shades. Helps when your fliers are reminiscent of the Obama HOPE poster…

3) BPM Parties

Daaamn, just like Scion, free parties but at the Avalon. Saw Ztrip and Dj AM before the accident, and realized how big the electro scene was getting in LA. Bangin Hollywood women and a mix of scenesters and ex-ravers, it was worth the free cover… but fuck the $20 parking!

2) Hardfest

I think I lost my mind at both the summer and Halloween events. Simply amazing! NERD was surprisngly entertaining, Bloody Beetroots and MSTRKRFT played the hardest electro ever, and Justice made me jizz all over my sweat stained pants. Although I felt like a dirty uncle at a Quincinera, all the underage girls were pretty eye candy to look at. Quote of the night “Were you born before the 90’s?”

1) THE COME UP (had to do it, but for reals, it’s the best party around!)

Every month I found myself preparing for a night of debauchery, while trying to figure out what type of music I wanted to spin. Always a good vibe, people are never pretentious, drinks were stiff and cheap, and of course, the music was dope as fuck! Big ups to all the Dj’s that got on stage this year, they were the best parties for me and lots of others who took the time to drive to Pasadena.

Now it’s time to gear up for 2009. Peace =)
